El cine Kyoto -京都シネマ– en la calle Karasuma siempre me depara sorpresas si no agradables, por lo menos estimulantes, cosa de agradecer en estos tiempos de copias inanes y discursos políticamente correctos. Esta vez le ha tocado el turno a Tetsuo, 鉄男, The bullet man, la tercera entrega cyberpunk del director japonés Shinya Tsukamoto. En 1989 y en 1992 ya hizo respectivamente El Hombre de hierro y El hombre del martillo. Ahora con más recursos económicos y de efectos especiales pero con la misma filosofía, ha añadido la música tecno de Nine Inch Nails –no apta para cardíacos, aviso-.
El personaje de esta nueva entrega es un サラリーマンのハーフ, i.e., a half Japanese-half American office worker living in Tokio. The depiction of the city and the lifestyle of their citizens are worth a discussion about the lack of humanness in the Japanese capital. Their black and white concrete apartment in the middle of a labyrinth of skyscrapers, hundreds of black and white J-office workers going robot-like to work, the basic and aseptic impossible communication with his Japanese wife is just the introduction to the big metaphor: his becoming an iron man, a bullet man when he gets angry. But it’s that same anger what might save his family, at the risk of losing his humanity in a never-ending metamorphoses. No wonder Shinya Tsukamoto is a fan of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (1818), Stevenson’s Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide (1886), David Lynch’s The Elephant man (1980), Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979) and Go Nagai’s Mazinger Z (1972).
京都シネマへ塚本晋也監督の鉄男という映画を見に行く前に、是非心臓病のお医者さんと相談してください。子供が殺される。熱狂したお父さんのハーフのサラリーマンは怒りながら次第に体が鉄と化していく。頭の代わりに不思議な機械が現る。大人しい日本人妻も復讐を探す。二人はともに子供の殺人犯を捕まえようとしている。作品はすべてＮｉｎｅＩｎｃｈＮａｉｌｓのテクノ音楽を使用している。心をかき乱す映画。おすすめです。
